Introduction to Dr.Rajeev Reddy
Dr Rajeev Reddy, Consultant Orthopaedic Oncosurgeon, is one of the very few Orthopaedic surgeons in India who has received formal training and has specialised in bone and soft tissue tumours and bone cancers(sarcomas). He practises Orthopaedic Oncosurgery exclusively.
He has been trained in a fellowship for nearly three years at P D Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Mumbai. He has also been a visiting surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, United Kingdom and has completed a fellowship from the prestigious Rizolli Centre of Orthopaedics in Bologna, Italy.
His MBBS and D Ortho are from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University and he completed his DNB Ortho from H Bal Thackrey Municipal Medical College and Cooper Hospital, Mumbai.
He has numerous publications in various prestigious international journals including CORR (Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research). He has presented the results of a unique surgery- Extra Corporeal Radiation Therapy for pelvic tumours at the European Musculoskeletal Oncology Society Meeting at Florence, Italy. He has to his credit contributions at the Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society meeting and the Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society meetings.
He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Oncology Society(BOOS) and the Australia New Zealand Sarcoma Association(ANZSA) apart from the Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society(IMSOS), Immuno Oncology Society of India and Bombay Orthopaedic Society.
He has been invited as a faculty at various conferences organised by Nizams Institute Of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Bombay Orthopaedic Society and Karnataka Orthopaedic Association. He was instrumental in the conducting of Indian Orthopaedic Association’s Onco Gyan at Vizag.
He has a special interest in the molecular research of sarcomas and customised devices for the reconstruction of massive bone defects apart from Extra Corporeal radiation therapy for reconstruction.
