A deeper look into yoga and meditation

Principles of Yoga

  • Yoga is the unity of the mind and soul, of atman and paramatman.
  • This movement comes out of the power of existence through consciousness, spirituality and leads to bliss.
  • Humans wish to only experience pleasures of life and so, become entangled in a web of endless pursuits, leading to perpetual dissatisfaction.
  • Only human birth offers the power of discrimination. Discrimination is the knowledge of the difference between truth and untruth.
  • Truth is a permanent state of presence in all periods in time, while falsehood is impermanent and gets destroyed with time – this world therefore is nothing but a mirage.
  • To know these truths you require a guru or guide who possesses this knowledge which they have concerted to wisdom. This wisdom, they have converted to spirituality.

Achieving spiritual bliss

  • Many paths are offered to achieve inner peace – mana (wisdom), karma (action), bhakti (devotion).
  • Do not get lost in the theory of practicing rituals. The best way to achieve inner peace is to change your attitude to life and existence around you.
  • The mind must be disciplined to avoid fixating on objects of pleasure.
  • Acquire knowledge and wisdom through a guru.
  • Avoid selfishness and ego
  • Practice non-violence and apply it to all creatures on earth.
  • Be kind and helpful to those around you and have compassion for those who are less fortunate.
  • Focus your meditation on the heart region.

About Heartfulness

  • This is the easiest and best way to achieve peace of mind. The concept is spread across the world by the Shri Ram Chandra Mission. There are millions of followers in over 169 countries with many gurus all over the world. They are all connected to one center that sits right here in Hyderabad – near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (approximately 25 miles from Shamshabad). The current leader of this movement is Sri Kamlesh Patel (also called ‘Daaji’). This organization has been connected with the Udai Omni Hospital for decades in a relationship that has nurtured the growth and holistic development of our hospital. We are immensely proud and grateful to be associated with the Heartfullness organization.

Pearls of wisdom

  • “There cannot be a more glorious object in creation than a human being – replete with benevolence” – Shri Ram Chandra of Uttar Pradesh – Founder of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission.
  • “Love is the pinnacle of human nobility” – Daaji
  • “One needs the discipline in life to practice the art of paying attention to your body, mind and soul, through exercise, healthy diet, compassion, clean and unbiased thinking.” Dr. Ved Prakash – Founder and Director of the Udai Omni Hospital
